Storm damage doesn't have to mean a paperwork nightmare.
We've walked hundreds of NWA homeowners through the insurance claim process. Free inspection, full written report, and we deal with the adjuster directly so you don't have to figure it out alone.
Most homeowners file an insurance claim once or twice in their lives. Insurance adjusters do it every day.
That asymmetry is why so many homeowners end up with claims that don't fully cover the damage, or get denied for reasons they don't understand.
We don't fix that problem by being aggressive or adversarial. We fix it by knowing what to look for, documenting it properly, and showing up to the adjuster meeting prepared.
That's it. That's the whole approach.
Five steps. We're with you on every one.
01 · Free inspection
We come out, walk the entire roof, and document what we find. Photos of any damage. Notes on the age and condition of the system. A written report you keep regardless of whether you file a claim.
If we don't find storm damage, we'll tell you. We won't push you to file a claim that doesn't have legs. That's how roofers get homeowners' insurance rates raised, or worse, get them dropped.
02 · You file the claim
If there's damage worth filing, you call your insurance carrier and report it. They'll ask the date of the storm and assign you a claim number. You don't need to know specifics yet. The adjuster documents everything when they come out. We'll tell you exactly what to say so the claim gets opened correctly the first time.
03 · Adjuster meeting
Your insurance company sends an adjuster to inspect the roof. We're there with them. Walking the roof together. Pointing out damage they might miss. Making sure nothing gets overlooked or undercounted.
This is the most important step in the whole process. A bad adjuster meeting means a bad claim. A good one means your roof gets covered the way it should.
04 · Scope review and supplements
After the meeting, the adjuster writes up a scope of work and sends it to you and to us. We review it line by line. If anything's missing, undercounted, or wrong, we file a supplement to get it added.
Most homeowners don't know supplements exist. They're a normal part of the process and the reason a lot of claims end up paying more than the initial estimate.
05 · Work begins, final paperwork
Once the scope is final and you've signed our contract, we order materials and schedule the install. Most jobs take one to two days on the roof. After work is done, we send the final paperwork to your carrier so the depreciation portion of your claim gets released to you.
Then we're done. The roof is on. The check has cleared. The paperwork is closed. You move on with your life.
What insurance will and won't cover.
- Wind damage (missing or lifted shingles after a storm)
- Hail damage (granule loss, bruising, fractured mats)
- Tree or debris impact
- Sudden water damage from storm-related roof failure
- Wear and tear from age (a 25-year-old roof isn't a claim, it's just old)
- Poor installation by a previous contractor
- Lack of maintenance
- Damage you knew about and didn't address
- Cosmetic-only damage (some carriers cover, some don't)
- Matching shingle requirements
- Code upgrades (newer building codes may need an endorsement)
The free inspection tells you which bucket your situation falls into. We'll be straight with you either way.
A few things specific to NWA insurance claims.
Northwest Arkansas sits in a part of the country that gets hit hard by hail and wind, especially in spring and early summer. Most roofs here see at least one significant storm event in their lifetime. Some see several.
Hail size matters.
Quarter-sized hail (1") usually causes documentable damage on asphalt shingle roofs. Smaller hail can still cause damage but it's harder to claim. We measure and document hail strikes during the inspection.
Wind events stack up.
Even moderate wind events can lift shingles enough to break the seal underneath. You won't see anything from the ground, but the roof's compromised. This is one of the most under-claimed types of damage in NWA.
Your deductible matters.
Most NWA homeowners have a wind/hail deductible separate from their main policy deductible. It's usually 1-2% of your home's insured value. Worth checking before you file.
Nothing for the inspection. Just your deductible if we move forward.
The inspection is free. The written report is free. The help with the adjuster meeting is free. None of that has any cost or obligation attached.
If we end up replacing the roof through your insurance claim, your out-of-pocket is your deductible. That's it. We work directly with your carrier on the rest.
If you don't have a claim or decide not to file, you keep the report and we shake hands. No follow-up calls, no aggressive sales follow-up. We respect your time.
Storm rolled through? Let's take a look.
We can usually get out for an inspection within 24 to 48 hours, faster after major storm events. Free, written report, no obligation, no pressure.
